Bourbon Tornado

The shot that once won a major nature photography award, mistakenly

It was not taken in Nevada, as believed at the time, but built in a studio for Four Roses Bourbon. The landscape set was 6 x 7.5 meters, using forced perspective on the road and elements such as the pylons, with a painted stormy sky backdrop. A sheet of glass was placed in front of the set and little lines of moisture (sweat wiped from Carmel's brow) were drawn on it to give the illusion of heat haze on the road
