For their 70th anniversary, Dior hosted an exhibition at the Galerie Lafayette department store. The windows, as well as artwork for the giant hot air balloon filling the dome of the Galerie, were given to us.
Thick layers of paint were used on the canvas backdrops to differentiate them from digital reproductions, in keeping with the exhibition's celebration of hand-made craft. Holes allowing pinpoints of light to shine through and glass beads placed on certain stars brought the backdrops to life. Thousands of brass 'brush strokes' were then cut and pinned onto the astrological objects suspended in front of these. As a finishing touch, we engineered two pendulum frames to take zodiacs and moons gently across the night skies
